
Battlecats Trainer
"Fallout Shelter meets Nintendogs… but with cats."
Battlecats Trainer was created during my 3rd year Games Pre-Production and Integrated Project 3 modules. Based on a Channel 4 property, the game was created based on a specification given to us by a 3rd party based in the Games Industry.
The game is a tower-management game, where you manage and train Battlecats to compete in parody, Olympic styled events. The game runs in real time, allowing players to dedicate small sections of time across a longer period when playing, so that it can be played often and on-the-move. It was developed specifically for Mobile devices.
This was my first proper foray into Mobile game development. During the project, I learned a lot about Mobile UI design and how to incorporate effective risk/reward mechanics. It was a great experience, and it gave me insight into how games progress along a professional pipeline set to client specifics.
Battlecats Trainer was developed in a team of 6. The game was unable to be published or further developed due to client restrictions.
